HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 2007.05.10 - 10487April 26, 2007 MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION 107100 BY: Personnel Committee, Thomas Middleton, Chairperson IN RE: HUMAN RESOURCES - FISCAL YEAR 2007 WAGE AND BENEFIT REOPENER FOR EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED BY THE MICHIGAN NURSES ASSOCIATION avINFO To the Oakland County Board ot Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentemen: WHEREAS the County of Oakland and the Michigan Nurses Association, have negotiated a Wage and Benefit reopener for Fiscal Year 2007 for approximately 126 Public Health Nurses; and WHEREAS this agreement provides for increase with the pay period beginning September 30, 2006; and WHEREAS this agreement Provides that the employees represented by this bargaining unit's health care will be consistent with Misce -latlenus Resolution #06114. The modifications are to be effective with the ratification of This agreement; and WHEREAS the agreement regarding the wage increase and benefit modification has been reduced to writing; and WHEREAS this agreement has been reviewed by your Personnel Committee, which recommends its approval. NOW THEREFORE BE 17 RIOIVED that the Board of Commissioners approves the proposed Wage and Benefit reopener agreement between the County of Oakland and the Michigan Nurses AssoPiation covering the period of October 1, 2006, through September 30, 2007, and that the Board Chairperson, on behalf of the County of Oakland, is authorized to execute said agreement as attached. Br BrI,oks Patterst MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (PUBLIC HEALTH NURSES) This agreement is entered into on this I OT t day of t•-00/ , 2007, between the County of Oakland and the Michigan Nurses Association. The parties have agreed on wages and benefits for Fiscal Year 2007 that includes a 2 % increase for all employees represented by this bargaining unit. The bi-weekly salary schedule will increase by 2 % effective with the pay period beginning September 30, 2006. Resolution # 06114. These changes include; $200 individual/$400 family deductible for healthcare and office visit co-pays are increased to $20; and are to be effective with ratification of agreement. There were no objections. FISCAL NOTE (MR #07100) May 10, 2007 BY: FINANCE COMMITTEE, MIKE ROGERS, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: HUMAN RESOURCES - FISCAL YEAR 2007 WAGE AND BENEFIT REOPENER FOR EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED BY THE MICHIGAN NURSES ASSOCIATION (MNA) TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIOENRS Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed the above-referenced resolution and finds: 1. The County of Oakland and the Michigan Nurses Association have reached an agreement regarding wages and benefits for Fiscal Year 2007. 2. The agreement includes a 2 96 wage increase for FY 2007. This equates to $130,664, for salaries and $48,999 for related fringe benefits totaling $179,663. 3. Funding to cover the contract change for FY 2007 in the amount of $179,663 was included in the FY 2007 Budget. Therefore, no budget amendment is required. FINANCE COMMITTEE FINANCE COMMITTEE Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Potter absent.
