In Re: HEALTH DIVISION —PRENATAL/POSTPARTUM CARE (PPG) GRANT
APPLICATION
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies, and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Oakland County Health Division has responded to a Request
for Proposal (REP) by the Michigan Department of Public Health to provide
Prenatal and Postpartum Care to eligible, low ir come -Qon -ter. ‘,.f.no are at
or below 185% of the USDA poverty level; and
WHEREAS this program has a positive impact on the reduction of infant
mortality and the improvement of maternal health; and
WHEREAS Oakland County has been identified by the Michigan Department
of Public Health as having the largest unmet need in the State; and
WHEREAS the PPG program anticipates serving 425 eligible clients
during the contract period; and
WHEREAS the Health Division anticipates subcontracting with the Oakland
Livingston Human Service Agency, an organization with experience in developing
and implementing such direct service programming ; and
WHEREAS subject grant covers a period from January 1, 1986, through
September 30, 1986; and
WHEREAS the grant amount of $205,275 is 100% State funded and does
not obligate the County to any future commitments.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board
of Commissioners authorizes the County Executive's Office to apply for
grant funds in the amount of $205,275 made available under the Prenatal/Postpartum
Care Grant.

IN RE: HEALTH DIVISION - 1986 PRENATAL/POSTPARTUM CARE (PPC) GRANT
APPLICATION
The Finance Committee has reviewed the proposed grant and finds:
1) This is the second grant application for this program,
2) The grant covers the period January 1, 1986 through December 31, 1986,
3) Funding is in the amount of $205,275, which is 100% funded by the State,
4) The grant application requests $205,275 for a professional services contract with
the Oakland Livingston Human Services Agency (OLHSA),
5) Application or acceptance of the grant does not obligate the County to any
future commitment.
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf OT the Finance Committee, I move the acceptance of the
foregoing report, and referral of the information contained therein to the Health and Human
Resources Committee, in accordance with Miscellaneous Resolution /18145, Revised Federal
and State Grant Application Procedures.
