IN RE: HEALTH DIVISION - 1986 AIDS EDUCATION GRANT APPLICATION THROUGH
MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH
TO THE OAKLAND BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is of major
public health concern; and
WHEREAS the Michigan Department of Public Health (MDPH) has made funding
available to selected local Health Departments to facilitate the development
and/or dissemination of AIDS educational literature; and
WHEREAS this is a one (1) time only grant application through the
Michigan Department of Public Health; and
WHEREAS the grant covers the period February 17, 1986 through
September 30, 1986; and
WHEREAS the grant application requests $5,000 to develop, print and
disseminate AIDS educational literature; and
WHEREAS the grant amount requested is one hundred percent (100%) state
funded; and
WHEREAS application or acceptance of the grant does not obligate the
county to any future commitment.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners authorize the County Executive's Office to apply for the AIDS
Education grant in the amount of $5,000 to be funded by the Michigan Department of
Public Health.
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Health and Human Services Committee, I
move the adoption of the foregoing resolution.

IN RE: HEALTH DIVISION- 1986 AIDS EDUCATION GRANT APPLICATION THROUGH
MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH
The Finance Committee has reviewed the proposed grant application
and finds:
1) This is a one (1) time only grant application through the
Michigan Department of Public Health,
2) The grant covers the period February 17, 1986 through
September 30, 1986,
3) The grant application requests $5,000 to develop, print, and
disseminate AIDS educational literature,
-4) The grant amount requested is 100% State funded,
5) Application or acceptance of the grant does not obligate
the County to any future commitment.
Mr. Chairperson, on be half of the Finance Committee, I move the
acceptance of the foregoing report, and referral of the information
contained therein to the Health and Human Services Committee, in accordance
with Miscellaneous Resolution #8I45, Revised Federal and State Grant
Application procedures.
