IN RE: Department of Corporation Counsel - Real Estate Section -
ACCEPTANCE OF OFFER TO PURCHASE 11.3 ± ACRES OF VACANT LAND,
PONTIAC, MICHIGAN
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the County of Oakland is the owner of property in the City
of Pontiac, consisting of 11.3 ± acres of vacant land, Sidwell #14-07-483-001;
and
WHEREAS pursuant to Resolutions 83064 and 84128 adopted March 17,
1983 and May 10, 1984, respectively, the Board of Commissioners authorized the
sale of said property; and
WHEREAS the property has been appraised at $28,000 by William E.
Hoover, ASA, SRA, and at $42,000 by Paul R. Stoppert, MM, ASA; and
WHEREAS said property was advertised for sale in 1983 and 1984 and
no bids or offers were received; and
WHEREAS the County has received an Offer to Purchase said property
from Hugh Coventry, for the sum of $35,000, with a deposit paid of $3,500 and
the balance payable on a two-year Land Contract at 10% per annum,contingent
upon Purchaser, at his sole expense, securing a rezoning of said parcel within
180 days; and
WHEREAS the Department of Corporation Counsel, Real Estate Section,
recommends the acceptance of this Offer to Purchase.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners accepts the Offer to Purchase 11.3 ± acres of vacant property in
Pontiac, Michigan, Sidwell #14-07-483-001, by Hugh Coventry, for the sum of
$35,000, payable on a two-year Land Contract at 10% per annum, contingent upon
Purchaser securing a rezoning of said parcel within 180 days.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairperson of the Board of Com-
missioners is directed to execute the acceptance of said Offer.
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Planning & Building Committee,
I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
