IN RE: FACILITIES ENGINEERING DIVISION - CONTRACT AWARD FOR REROOFING OF PUBLIC
WORKS BUILDING AND COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS by Miscellaneous Resolution #86100 the Board of Commissioners authorized
the County Executive's Department of Central Services to receive bids for partial
reroofing of Public Works Building and Commissioners Auditorium at an estimated
cost of $158,500; and
WHEREAS in accordance with bidding procedures,bids for the installation of the
above mentioned were received and opened on May 20, 1986; and
WHEREAS the County Executive's Department of Central Services has reviewed
all bids submitted and recommends that the lowest responsible bidder, North Roofing
be awarded a contract for roofing repairs in the amount of $ .70; and
WHEREAS additional costs are estimated to be $17,630; and
WHEREAS the total cost of the above mentioned work is estimated to be $91,000
as detailed in th attached schedule; and
WHERAS funding for the above-mentioned project is available in the Capital
Improvement Program - Utilities Parking Lots and Roads Section.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1) The contract proposal of North Roofing of Pontiac, Michigan, in the amount
of $73,370 be accepted and the contract awarded in concurrence with the
Planning and Building Committee recommendations,
2) Funds be provided in the amount of $17,630 to cover the remaining
project costs,
3) The Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners, is hereby authorized and
directed to execute a contract with North Roofing of Pontiac, Michigan
on behalf of the County of Oakland,
4) The County Executive's Department of Central Services, Facilities Eng-
ineering Division, shall notify the awardee of this award, in writing no
later than 10 days after adoption of this resolution. The award shall not
be effective until the awardee has been notified.
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Finance Committee, I move the adoption of the
foregoing resolution.

AT THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING AND COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM
TO THE FINANCE COMMITTEE
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies, and Gentlemen:
The Planning and Building Committee, having reviewed the bids received
for the reroofing of the Public Works Building and the Commissioners' Auditorium,
reports with the recommendation that the low bid of $73,370 from North
Roofing Company be accepted (see attached).
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Planning and Building Committee,
I submit the foregoing report.

AWARD OF CONTRACT
FOR
REROOFING AT THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING
AND COMMISSIONER'S AUDITORIUM
In accordance with authorization received on April 17, 1986, in the
form of Miscellaneous Resolution 86100, drawings and specifications for
the reroofing at the Public Works Building and Commissioner's Auditorium
were prepared. The project was advertised and bids were received at 2:00
p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 1986. These bids are summarized on the attached
Bid Tabulation Sheet.
The low responsible bidder was North Roofing of Pontiac, Michigan,
with a bid of $73,370.00. This contractor's references reported that he
has performed satisfactorily.
Alternate No. 1 would extend the warranty period from five to ten
years for no change in contract price. The Department of Central
Services, Facilities Engineering Division is recommending that the
alternate be accepted.
