Chairperson, Lc lies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS Miscellaneous Resolution #85247 authorized the Jail architects to complete all design work through the preparation of bidding documents for the construction of a 256 bed Jail addition; and WHEREAS, said resolution also appropriated $648,000 to pay for such design services; and WHEREAS this appropriation does not cover soil investigation and other reimbursable expenses which are expected to be $71,875 through the bid. H document phase; and WHEREAS funding of $71,875 is available in the 1986 Capital Improvement Program - Miscellaneous Jail Remodeling project. NOW THEREFORE PF IT RESOLVED that funds be provided in the amount of $71,875 from the 1986 Capital Improvement Program - Miscellaneous Jail Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Finance Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution. _ M CC' Ti Project 85-13 June 17, 1986 OAKLAND COUNTY EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT OF CENTRAL SERVICES FACILITIES ENGINEERING DIVISIO N ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR JAIL EXPANSION On August 22, 1985, the Board of Commissioners passed Miscellaneous Resolution 85247. The resolution authorized the architects to complete all design work through the preparation of bidding documents for the construction of a 256 bed Jail addition. The resolution also appropriated $648,000 to cover this portion of the architectural design work. A copy of the resolution is attached. The $648,000 figure represents 80 percent of the architect's total fee for basic services. In other words, it covers the schematic design, the design development, and the construction document phases but does not include any services during the bidding and construction phases. It also does not cover any of the additional services and reimbursable expenses associated with the project. Additional services are defined on page 5 of the attached contract and total $16,875 for soil investigation work. Reimbursable expenses are defined on page 11 of the attached contract and are expected to reach $55,000 by the end of the construction document phase. In order to meet this obligation, an additional appropriation of $71,875 is being requested. #86183 June 26, 1986 Moved by Caddell supported by Susan Kuhn the report be accepted.
