MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION # 86322

IN RE: EMS AND DISASTER CONTROL DIVISION -- AMEND FINAL 9-1-1 SERVICE PLAN FOR
THE COUNTY OF OAKLAND
TO : THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners, by Miscellaneous
Resolution 486245 (August 21, 1986), adopted the Final 9-1-1 Service Plan for
the County of Oakland; and
WHEREAS the Charter Township of Commerce, by filing of a Notice of
Exclusion form in accordance with state law, was excluded from the Final 9-1-1
Service Plan for the County of Oakland; and
WHEREAS the Charter Township of Commerce now requests the Oakland
County Board of Commissioners to be included in the Final 9-1-1 Service Plan
for the County of Oakland; and
WHEREAS the Emergency Telephone Service Enabling Act permits the
Oakland County Board of Commissioners to amend a "Final 9-1-1 Service Plan"
only by complying with the described procedures contained therewithin.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners adopts the attached "Tentative 9-1-1 Service Plan" to include
the Charter Township of Commerce in the county-wide 9-1-1 system, consistent
with the Emergency Telephone Service Enabling Act.
BE IT ,e.'"Heite! RESOLVED that, consistent with the Act, a public
hearing be held regarding the amended "Final 9-1-1 Service Plan" on February
19, 1987, at 9:45 a.m., in the Board of Commissioners' Auditorium, 1200 N.
Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan 48053.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that written quarterly reports be presented to
the Public Services Committee by the Manager of the Emergency Medical Services
and Disaster Control Division and to the balance of the members of the Board
of Commissioners.
Mr. Chairman, on behalf of the Public Services Committee, I move the
adoption of the foregoing resolution.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO FUNCTION
AS A PSAP OR SECONDARY
Sec. 307. (1) Any public safety agency designated in the tentative 9-1-1
service plan to function as a PSAP or secondary PSAP shall be so designated
under the final 9-1-1 service plan if the public safety agency files with the
county clerk a notice of intent to function as a PSAP or secondary PSAP within
45 days after the public agency which the public safety agency has been
designated to serve by the tentative 9-1-1 service plan receives a copy of the
resolution and the tentative 9-1-1 service plan adopted pursuant to section
303. The notice of intent to function as a PSAP or secondary PSAP shall be in
substantially the following form:
(2) If a public safety agency designated as a PSAP or secondary PSAP in the
tentative 9-1-1 service plan fails to file a notice of intent to function as a
PSAP or secondary PSAP within the time period specified in subsection (1), the
public safety agency shall not be designated as a PSAP or secondary PSAP in
the final 9-1-1 service plan.

I. To include the Charter Township of Commerce, consistent with the
Emergency Telephone Service Act and the provisions of Miscellaneous
Resolution ft 86245, in the Final 9-1-1 Service Plan for the County of
Oakland, adopted on August 21, 1986.
