McDonald, Chairperson IN RE: CIRCUIT COURT - 1985 - 1988 LABOR AGREEMENT FOR EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED BY THE OAKLAND COUNTY COURT REPORTERS' ASSOCIATION TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS a labor agreement covering the Court Reporter TIT t s of the Oakland County Circuit Court has been negotiated with the Oakland County Court Reporters' Association; and WHEREAS a four (4) year agreement has been reached with the Association for the period January 1, 1985 through December 31, 1988, and said agreement has been reduced to writing; and WHEREAS your Personnel Committee has reviewed the agreement covering employees represented by the Association and recommends approval of the agreement; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the agreement between the Oakland County Circuit Court, the County of Oakland, and the Oakland County Court Reporters' Association be and the same is hereby approved, and that the Chair- person of this Board, on behalf of the County of Oakland, be and is hereby authorized to execute said agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto. Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Personnel Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution. PERSONNEL COMMITTEE SUMMARY OF TENTATIVE AGREEMENT WITH CIRCUIT COURT REPORTERS Duration of Agreement - January 1, 1985 - December 31, 1988 (4 years) Wages January 1, 1985 - 4.62% 1986 - "Me Too" with non-union 1987 - "Me Too" with non-union 1988 - "Me Too" with non-union Fringe Benefits "Me Too" with non-union during term of agreement. AGREEMENT This Agreement is entered into between the Circuit Court for the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan (hereinafter referred to as Association). 1) PURPOSE - The general purpose of this Agreement is to set forth certain terms and conditions of employment. 2) RECOGNITION - Pursuant to and in accordance with all applicable provisions of Act 379 of the Public Act of 1965, the Employer recognizes the Association as the sole and exclusive collective bargaining representative for all Circuit Court Stenographers. 3) RULES - During the period of this Agreement the members of the Association shall continue to receive the same economic fringe benefits receiving by all non-union County employees, as adjusted or changed from time to time. 4) SALARY - For the duration of the Agreement the Circuit Court Reporter III's shall be paid an annual salary of $29,046. Court Reporter III's shall receive salary increases during the term of this contract equal to the general percentage salary increase received by non-union County employees effective after January 1, 1985. Court Reporter III's are not eligible for over- time compensation. 5) DUTIES - Each Judge shall have the right to hire and to terminate the employment of his or her reporter. At all times relevant hereto under this Agreement the members of the Association are subject to the instruction, direction, and control of the particular Judge employing the particular member. The members of the Association shall be available for work seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day, at the direction of the Judge by whom the particular member is employed. The Chief Judge shall have the right to hire and terminate the employ- ment of the swing reporter. The swing reporter shall be assigned by the Chief Judge to a particular Judge from time to time and once assigned, shall be under the direction and control of the Judge to whom he or she has been assigned as if employed by the Judge. WILLIAM CATT2-17,LL, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: MISCELLA'T —JS RESOLUTION #85011 - CIRCUIT COURT - 1985-1988 MENT FOR EMPLOYEES REPRESENTED BY THE OAKLAND COUNTY COURT REPORTS' TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: Pursuant to Rule XI-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed Miscellaneous Resolution #8501I and finds: 1) The agreement for the four year period - January 1, 1985 through December 31, 1988, covering 15 Governmental Positions has a first year cost of $22,115, 2) The total budgeted cost for the period - January 1, 1985 through December 31, 1985 is $22,115, of which $17,483 is a Salary cost and $4,627 is for associated Fringe Benefit costs, 3) $17,488 is available in the 1985 Salary Adjustment Account and $4,627 is available in the 1985 Fringe Benefit Adjustment Account, 4) The Board of Commissioners appropriates $17,488 from the 1985 Salary Adjustment Account and $4,627 from the 1985 Fringe Benefit Account and transfers said amount to the 1985 Division Budget as per the attached schedule, 5) Cost for the years 1986-1988 will be on a "Me Too" basis with non-union employees.
