LANNI, CHAIRMAN IN RE: SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT - ACCEPTANCE OF GIFT DONATION ITEMS FROM PRIVATE SOURCES TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS Miscellaneous Resolution #83204, Procedure for Acceptance of a Gift Donation from Private Sources, established written procedures for the acceptance of Gifts from Private Sources; and WHEREAS procedures require that any gifts of a value greater than $10,000 requiring Board of Commissioners' Approval; and WHEREAS such a gift donation has been offered to the Sheriff's Department by the E.S.C.A.P.E. Program (Enroll in Sheriff Crime Prevention Accident Prevention Education Program); and WHEREAS the Sheriff wishes to accept this donation (detailed items listed on Schedule I); and WHEREAS it is recommended that a Crime Prevention Fund be established to deposit the cash for purposes of crime prevention expenditures and to record future donations from private sources; and WHEREAS it is recommended by the Public Services Committee that we accept this donation and quarterly progress reports be submitted to this Committee on the status of the Crime Prevention Activities involving the Sheriff's Department. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the gift donation, as identified by the attached Schedule I, be accepted. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a Crime Prevention Fund be established to re- cord future donations and expenses following all County procedures. The Public Services, by James E. Lanni, Chairman, moves for adoption of the foregoing resolution. There may be miscellaneous items that are not identified here. Should these items be of any value, a report will be brought back to the Public Services Committee. MINUTES OF THE E.S.C.A.P.F. PROGRAM A meeting of the E.S.C.A.P.E. Program was held in the Sheriff's office at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 1985. The following directors were present at the meeting: James Clarkson - President C. Hugh Dohany - Treasurer Lynn D. Allen - Secretary Attending this meeting were three guests; Mr. Dale Cunningham, Sheriff John F. Nichols and Undersheriff Billy J. Nolin. Mr. Dohany presented the balance sheet as of December 31, 1984, as submitted to him by Marc J. Cooper, Executive Vice President, and Mr. Robert Misener, a volunteer. After considerable discussion, it was moved by Dohany and supported by Allen that the following Resolution be adopted: MOVE that the E.S.C.A.P.E. Program be dissolved and that all assets be transferred to the Oakland County Sheriff's Crime Prevention Section. Through the action taken by this Board, this now concludes and finalizes the E.S.C.A.P.E. Program which no longer shall be in existence, this being the final meeting.
