RE: BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS—RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION
GEORGE BERTON JACKSON
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, from 1981-1984, Bert Jackson ably represented the citizens of
County Commissioner District #22, which includes the City of Bingham Farms,
Village of Beverly Hills, and a portion of the Cities of Birmingham and
Southfield, and a portion of Bloomfield Township; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure on the Oakland County Board of Commissioners,
Bert Jackson was a member of the Public Services Committee and Zoning Coordinating
Committee; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the Board's Planning and Building Committee,
Bert Jackson brought to the Board of Commissioners his vast knowledge of the
building and construction trades serving as the Vice Chairperson of that Committee; and
WHEREAS, Bert Jackson's commitment to the betterment of the quality of
life in our County continues as he continues to serve on the County Library Board,
and as the Vice Chairperson of the Community Development Advisory Council.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners does hereby unanimously commend George Berton Jackson for his
dedicated service to the citizens of Oakland County.
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the General Government Committee, I
move the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
