HOBART, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION - MICHIGAN LAND TRUST FUND GRANT APPLICATION TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS Groveland Oaks County Park is over developed in terms of density of camping, and land locked for any future development, except in the area to the north which is privately owned; and WHEREAS this northern land, known as the Simpson Lake/Thread Creek property, consisting of approximately 191 acreas, is available for acquisition; and WHEREAS the overall Recreation Master Plan indicates a need for future expansion; and WHEREAS the Michigan Land Trust Fund has matching grant funds available for acquisition and development projects; and WHEREAS the Parks and Recreation Commission has approved submission of a matching grant application for property acquisition to the Michigan Land Trust Fund in the amount of $431,200; $344,960 (80%) of which is requested State funding and $86,240 (20%) of which is match authorized by the Parks and Recreation Commission, said funds designated from the one- quarter mill; and WHEREAS the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission proposes to take title to said property, provide appropriate development and assume maintenance and operation costs. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning and Building Committee approves submission of a matching grant application by the Parks and Recreation Division to the Michigan Land Trust Fund in the amount of $431,200, for acqui- sition of the above identified property. WILLIAM CADDELL, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION-MICHIGAN LAND TRUST FUND GRANT APPLICATION The Finance Committee has reviewed the subject grant application and finds: I) This is a one time matching grant application to the Michigan Land Trust Fund for acquisition of approximately 191 acres of land north of, and adjacent to, Groveland Oaks County park, 2) Total acquisition costs are estimated to be $431,200, 3) Of that amount, $344,960 (80%) is requested State funding and $86,240 (20%) is match authorized by the Parks and Recreation Commission, said funds designated from the one-quarter (1) mill, 4) The Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission will take title to said property, provide appropriate development and assume maintenance and operation costs, 5) Application or acceptance of the grant does not obligate the County to any future commitment. Hobart, Chairperson IN RE: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS - REQUEST BY CITY QF NORTHVILLE TO BE TOTALLY INCLUDED IN WAYNE COUNTY ACT 641 SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: - WHEREAS, the City of Northville lies partially- in the County of Wayne and partially in the County of Oakland; and WHEREAS, Section 28 of Att 641 of the Public Acts of 1978 allows for a municipality located in two counties to be wholly covered by one county's solid waste plan; and 'iHEREAS, the council of the City of Northville by resolution adop. on November 18, 1985 did request the Oakland County Board of Commissioners to be totally included in the Wayne County Act 641 Solid Waste Management Plan; and WHEREAS, the municipality request must be approved by each county board of commissioners before the action may take place. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners hereby approves that portion of the OitY of Northville lying within the County of Oakland to be included in the Wayne County Act 641 Solid Mar-, ent Plan.
