OLSEN, CHAIRPERSON RE: AMENDMENT TO RULE XX - ESTABLISH QUARTERLY EVENING MEETINGS TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners recognizes that citizen interest and participation is a valuable component of the governmental process; and WHEREAS, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners wishes to provide its citizenry with an opportunity for such participation by establishing quarterly evening meetings. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners does hereby amend Rule XX by adding, The first meeting of March, June, Sept-ember and November shall be an evening meeting starting at 7:30 p. m." Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the General Government Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution. GENERAL GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE 24th day o f February 983. #83024 February 24, 1983 Moved by Olsen supported by S. Kuhn the resolution be adopted. Moved by Lanni supported by Rewold the resolution be amended in the NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED paragraph to show that there shall be a night meeting held in March, June, September and November starting at 7:30, leaving the setting of that meeting to the discretion of the Chairperson of the Board. A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the amendment carried. Moved by Aaron supported by Fortino the resolution be amended in the NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED paragraph by adding the first meeting of each month, starting on March 17, 1983, shall be an evening meeting starting at 7:30." (14) A sufficient majority not having voted therefor, the amendment failed.
