IN RE: SPECIAL SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM FOR WOMEN, INFANTS AND CHILDREN
(W.I.C.) GRANT ACCEPTANCE - OCTOBER 1, 1982 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 1983
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Miscellaneous Resolution #8145 requires the Finance Committee to
review acceptance of all grants that vary less than ten (10) percent from the
original grant application; and
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners, by Miscellaneous Resolution
#82338, authorized the application to the Michigan Department of Public Health for
the continuation of the administration of the Women, Infants and Children (W.I.C.)
grant program in the amount of $374,000 for the period October 1, 1982 through
September 30, 1983; and
WHEREAS the Finance Committee has reviewed said grant as approved by the
Michigan Department. of Public Health and finds the grant award is in the amount
of $395,051 or $21,051 (5.67,) greater than the original grant application for the
period October 1, 1982 through September 30, 1983; and
WHEREAS the Oakland County health Division will monitor the $1,992,382 budgeted
for food expenditures by the Michigan Department of Public Health; and
WHEREAS the grant and food dollars are 100% funded by the United States De-
partment of Agriculture (through the State of Michigan); and
WHEREAS acceptance of the grant does not obligate the County to any further
commitment.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
authorize and accept the (W.I.G.) grant in the amount of $395,051.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairperson of the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners be and is hereby authorized to execute said grant contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairperson of this Board is hereby authorized
to approve minor changes and grant extensions, not to exceed a ten (10) percent
variance, which are consistent with the grant as approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this grant contract has been reviewed and. approved
as to form by the Office of Corporation Counsel.
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Finance Committee I move the adoption of
the foregoing resolution.
