In re: 1983 REPORT ON LOCAL TAXES
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson', Ladies and Gentlemen:
3 your Finance Committee on Local Taxes has examined report
from the Township of Royal Oak having taxes to be spread upon the County
Tax Roll, and has checked these reports with the pertinent law (Section
37 General Property Tax Laws), and has caused corrections to be made ,Jerc
necessary; and
WHEREAS your Committee has prepared a tax certificate showing the
certified rates, as adjusted by Section 211.24E, 211.34 and all .34D of
the General Property Tax Laws, authorized to spread against State Equalized
Valuations, which certificate, having deleted therefrom the re
spread 7 mills for Police Protection and 7 mills for Fire Protection in
that the defect in raising such taxes cannot be corrected, is submitted
herewith and which is the basis for the tabulation above mentioned, and
it is recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize that the
certificate be corrected.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Finance Committee deletes the
7 mills for Police Protection and 7 mills for Fire Protection from this
certificate.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Board adopt the attached corrected
certificate from the Finance Committee with the recommendation herein
contained as part of the permanent records of the Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners authorizes
and directs the assessing officer to spread the rates against the State
ETJ.alized Valuation set forth herein for 1983 on the corrected certificate.

TO THE SUPERVISOR OF THE TOWNSHIP ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 15
AND SHALL BE TRANSMITTED BY SAID SUPERVISOR TO THE COUNTY
CLERK, (FINANCE COMMITTEE) ON OR BEFORE OCTOBER 1st OF EACH
YEAR.
CITY CLERKS SHALL FILE THIS REPORT DIRECTLY WITH THE COUNTY
CLERK ON OR BEFORE OCTOBER 1st.

CERTIFICATION
I. Clerk of (Township) or pactu of Royal Oak
County of Oakland, Michigan hereby certify that this report is
a true and correct statement of all Township, School or Local
Special Taxes to be levied in the Assessing Unit of which I am
Clerk. This certification doea not include County General,
County Debt Service or Reassessed Taxes.
INSTRUCTIONS
ANNUAL REPORT OF TOWNSHIP OR CITY CLERK TO COUNTY CLERK
FORM LT-1. (see reverse side) shall be delivered by the Clerk of the Township
to the Supervisor of the Township on or before September 15th of each year and
shall be transmitted by said Supervisor to the County Clerk on or before October
1st of each year. City Clerks shall file this report directly with the County
Clerk on or before October 1st of each year, Since the several School Boards
are required to file their certifications with the Township and City Clerks by
September 13th, you will have all the Information necessary for completion of
this report.
NOTICE
FORM L-4029: PLEASE ATTACH TO THIS ANNUAL REPORT A COPY OF THE CERTIFICATES OF
COMPLAINCE CERTIFYING THAT THE TAX RATES HAVE BEEN REDUCED ACCORDING
TO SECTION 31 OF ARTICLE LX OF THE STATE CONSTITUTION OF 1963 AS
REQUIRED BY SECTION 211 34d OF MICHIGAN COMPILED LAWS.
ENTER: The State Equalized Value for each item of tax.
PREPARE IN DUPLICATE. Retain one copy, for your file and
ENTER: The certified State Equalized rates and amounts against each item of
tax, These rates shall not exceed the allocated rate or limits voted by the
people of each district except for debts incurred under Article IX, Section 6
of the Michigan Constitution and Article IX, Section 31, as amended, in 1978.
CITY, TOWNSHIP or VILLAGES TAX LEVY
Cities should enter DU these lines, amounts certified by the City Council,
A separate resolution for each drain that will be s7:ead on the December Tax
Roll under Chapter 20 and 21, of the 1956 Drain Cede ,ould be attached to
this report. Chapter 20 and 21 drains which al sc:rsAl along with the City
Tax shall be included in this report under other cq.,.es, and the figure I
should be inserted in code column.
County Drain Assessments to property will be entered by the Finance Committee
and sent to you for checking.
"CITIES DO NOT ENTER ANY AMOUNTS UNDER SPECIAL TAXES,"
Special Taxes are spread against individual properties in a special assessment
district. Special taxes included such items as Fire, sidewalks, police, lighting
of highways, township drains, paving, line fences, etc., Resolutions by Township
Boards for spread of special taxes should be attached,
