IN RE : Modification to the Oakland Community College Fiscal Year
1980 Title II-B Intern Work Experience Allocation
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Indies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners by Miscellaneous
Resolutions No. 6546 and 8883 applied for and was granted the designation as
Prime Sponsor by the U. S. Department of Labor to administer the provisions of
the Comprehensive EMployment and Training Act of 1973 and the Comprehensive
EMployment and Training Act Amendments of 1978; and
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners by the attached
Resolution No. 9240 approved the Title II-B Fiscal Year 1980 Oakland Community
College Intern Work Experience Allocation of $178,985; and
WHEREAS Oakland Community College needs an additional $57,000 to
fund eleven (11) positions in Oakland County school districts in cooperation
with the C.E.T.A. Education Linkages Type B Grant; and
WHEREAS the past effectiveness of the Oakland Community College
Intern Work Experience activity indicates the highest percentage of participants
entering unsubsidized employment upon termination from the program than any other
Intern Work Experience activity during the Fiscal Year 1979; and
Commissioners approves the increase of the Oakland Community College Fiscal Year
1980 Title II-B College Intern Work Experience allocation by $57,000 from $178,985
to $235,985 in order to expand service to Oakland County.
BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED that these funds be made available from carry
forward unobligated balance from Title II-B.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a written quarterly report for review of
performance objectives will be submitted to the Public Services Committee and the
Oakland County Board of Commissioners.
Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Public Services Committee, I move
the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
