PURCHASE
THIS AGREE/ENT, entered into this 15th day of September , 1980,
between the COUNTY OF OAKLAND, a Michigan Constitutional Corporation, hereinafter
called "County," and the City of Farmington Hills , hereinafter called
"Municipality;"
WHEREAS, the County has established a centrally activated tornado warning
system; and
WHEREAS, the Municipality desires to become a part of such system,
NOW THEREFORE in consideration of a sum of No More than sixty-five thousand
dollars ($65,000), being seventy-five percent participation
of the total cost, to be paid by the Municipality to the County, the County agrees
to install nine (9) siren(s) within the Municipality at locations to be des-
ignated by the Municipality. Said sum to be paid within thirty days (30) after
installation and successful testing of equipment.
IT IS FURTIIERAGREED AND UNDERSTOOD that the maintenance and electrical
cost of the siren(s) shall be borne by the County.
This agreement and costs shown are subject to change depending upon
selection of siren location by the Municipality, bid costs, inflationary trends, and
the availability of Federal matching funds (fifty percent of the cost of the siren(s)
purchased and installation).
Local activation capability will be at the option and expense of the
Municipality.

IN RE: TORNADO SIREN SYSTEM EXPANSION - MISCELLANOUS RESOLUTION

TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr, Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XI-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed
Miscellaneous Resolution #9619 and finds:
1) The City of Farmington Hflls has requested County participation in the
purchase of nine (9) Tornado Sirens,
2) The estimated cost of the sirens is $85,834.80, of which
$21,45870 (25%) is County share and $64,376.10 (75%) is the City of Farmington
Hills share.
The Board of Commissioners appropriates $21,458.70, the County portion,
from the 1980 Contingent Fund to the 1980 Disaster Control Unit line-item for
Capital Outlay.
