Wilcox, Chairperson, having reviewed Miscellaneous Resolution #9257, Department of Energy Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Demonstration Program Application, reports with the recommendation that the resolution be adopted. Wilcox, Chairperson, moves the acceptance of the foregoing report, PLANNING & BUILDING COMMITTEE FINACEcfMMITTEE Dennis tv‘urp1i7-, Cho; rpotson JANUARY 31, 1980 MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION if 9257 BY: FINANCE COMMITTEE, DENNIS MURPHY, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY ELECTRIC AND HYBRID VEHICLE DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM APPLICATION TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has reviewed the Deportment of Energy Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Demonstration Program Application; and WHEREAS, this program is to demonstrate the utility and energy feasibility of electric vehicles by purchasing and operating ten (10) electric vehicles (5 electric vans and 5 electric pick-up trucks) for a period of four (4) years following execution of a Cooperative Agreement with the Department of Energy; and WHEREAS, total funding for the program is $380,205 of which $148,335 or 39% is to be funded by the Department of Energy and $231,870 or 61% is to be funded by the County and consists entirely of soft match; and WHEREAS, the electric vehicles to be purchased by the County will be replacement vehicles and will not be an expansion of the County fleet; and WHEREAS, acceptance of this program does not obligate the County to continue this program beyond the agreement period; and WHEREAS, Oakland County will provide the necessary personnel, facilities, materials, equipment and services to conduct the program; and WHEREAS, the Finance Committee recommends the filing of said application. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County BDard of Commissioners approves the filing of the Department of Energy Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Demonstration Program Application. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners be and is hereby authorized to execute the necessary documents in connection with the filing of said application.
