HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1980.01.31 - 11947January 31, 1980 Miscellaneous Resolution # BY: PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE, Henry William Hoot, Chairman IN RE: CETA TITLE III, SKILLED TRAINING AND IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM SUB-CONTRACTOR, AUTOMOTIVE CAREER CENTER CONTRACT TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr, Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners by Miscellaneous Resolution No. 6546 and 8883 applied for and was granted the designation as Prime Sponsor by the U.S. Department of Labor to administer the provisions of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973 and the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act Amendments of 1978; and WHEREAS, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners by Miscellaneous Resolution No. 8719 approved the Prime Sponsor to administer the CETA, Title III , Skilled Training and Improvement Program (STIP) and its Modification by Miscellaneous Resolution No, 8910 and 9210; and WHEREAS, the Automotive Career Center, 154 N. Saginaw, Pontiac, Michigan, is a Sub-grantee included within the STIP Modification for the purposes of offering instruction to 35 trainees in the occupation of auto mechanic for a total contractual amount of $82,390,00; and WHEREAS, the Automotive Career Center was renting Classroom Training and garage space from Pontiac Opportunities Industrialization Center; designated as owner; and WHEREAS, the Automotive Career Center has relocated to an alternate facility located at 210 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, due to POIC building violations QS described in the City of Pontiac's Building and Safety Codes; and WHEREAS, the alternate facility will require an additional estimated $2,500,00 for utility expenses which will increase the Contractual Agreement from $82,390,00 to $84,890,00 for Classroom Training, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approve the additional $2,500.00 for utility expenses incurred by the Automotive Career Center, which increases the previously approved contract from $82,390.00 to $84,890.00, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funding is available from unexpended allowances as approved by Miscellaneous Resolution #9210, ie It K knry lam pot, Chairman BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a quarterly report for review of performance objectives will be submitted to the Public Services Committee and the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners be and is hereby authorized to execute said contract modification. The Public Services Committee, by Henry William Hoot, Chairman, moves the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
