AUTHORIZATION TO RECEIVE BIDS
AND INITIAL FUNDING FOR
1980 ADMINISTRATIVE ANNEX II REMODELING
Project 79-28 April 10, 1980
With the Executive Office Building nearing completion and scheduled
to be occupied in the near future, a considerable amount of space in the
Administrative Annex II will become available to other departments. In
keeping with this Committee's wish to provide relief to the overcrowding in
the Friend of the Court area, that is the primary use to which that space
will be put.
The sketches on the following pages compare the current disposition of
that space with what is being proposed. Floor locations and some details
have been developed, but office configurations have yet to be designed.
The project is listed in the 1980 Capital Improvement Program at .a
total cost of $450,000 with the following breakdown:
Construction $355,000
Furniture 20,000
Engineering 25,000
Administrative 5,000
Contingency 45,000
$450,000
In order to complete the design, certain engineering and
administrative expenses must be met. Specifically, an outside electrical
engineering design firm must be retained and charges for advertising,
blueprint reproduction, and specification printing must be paid. Also, new
furniture must be acquired for additional Friend of the Court staff. As
there are areas in the building that can be occupied as is as soon as they
are vacated, the furniture should be ordered now.
At this time, authorization to receive bids and initial funding in the
amount of $50,000 is being requested.
