HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1980.06.19 - 120119472 June 19, 1980 Miscellaneous Resolution /APPROVE THE F.79.$ • !NG RESOLUTION BY: PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE - Henry William Hoot, Chairman IN RE: Policy Statement TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS it has been and continues to be the policy of the government of Oakland County to support the development and maintenance of the arts; and WHEREAS the Cultural Council of Pontiac, Inc. has requested the participation and support of Oakland County in carrying out an operations analysis research study relating to the Theatre/Auditorium and Cultural Pavilion within Phase 1 of the Pontiac Plan; and WHEREAS the Cultural Council of Pontiac, Inc. has indicated that the cost of an operations analysis research study would be in an amount not to exceed $45,000; and WHEREAS the members of the Oakland County Cultural Council have voted to support the concept of an Operation Analysis Research Study, to be funded by Oakland County, City of Pontiac, and General Motors; and WHEREAS it is deemed to be in the best interests of the county to Provide for the continued advancement and Promotion of the arts, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Com- missioners approves the attached loan agreement with the Pontiac Downtown Develop- ment Authority for the exclusive purpose of assisting in the funding of an operations analysis research study relating to the Theatre/Auditorium and Cultural Pavilion within Phase 1 of the Pontiac Plan; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the government of Oakland County's commitment to the loan agreement is contingent upon a prior commitment by the City of Pontiac and a concurrent commitment(s) by at least one other corporation or institution; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the government of Oakland County's loan agreement be in an amount not to exceed $15,000; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners be and is hereby authorized to sign the loan agreement, Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Public Services Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
