Dunaskiss, Chairperson IN RE: Establishing County Policy Prohibiting the Use of County Funds or Equipment for Election Purposes TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS public funds and equipment purchased with public funds should be used only for the benefit of the public; and WHEREAS to assure the taxpayers of Oakland County that no county funds or equipment shall be used to promote or elect any person running for public office, it is recommended that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners establish a policy prohibiting the use of such funds or equipment. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners hereby establishes a policy prohibiting the use, by elected officials and county employees, of county funds or equipment to promote or otherwise use in the election of any person for public office. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that violation of such policy shall subject such person or persons to the penalties provided by the various state acts. Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the General Government Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution. GENERAL GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE Mat J.
