HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1980.05.22 - 12091RESOLUTION NO. 9)432 May 22, 1980 RE: PARKS AND RECEEATTON MILT.,AGF BY: PLANNTNC AND BUILDING COMMITTEE TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: WHEREAS, the one-quarter voted millage for the Oakland County Parks and Recreation areas in Oakland County will expire after the year 1981; and WHEREAS, the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission has requested the question to be placed on the ballot at the August Primary Election for a continuation of the one-quarter (1/L;) mill for an additional five (5) years for the purpose of improving and/or constructing suitable parks and recreation facilities; and WHEREAS, your Committee concurs in said request; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Oakland, State of Michigan as follows: That there shall be submitted to the Electors of the County of Oakland at the Primary August Election to be held on the 5th day of August, 1980 from 7:00 o'clock A.M. to 8:00 o'clock P.M., Eastern Daylight Time, the following proposition: "Shall the constitutional tax limitat i on on the total amount of general ad valorem taxes which may be im- posed each year for all purposes upon real and tan-ible personal pronerty in Oakland County, 7ich.'Lg3n, be in- creased as provided in Section 6, Article IN of the Constitution of Michigan for -a poricd of five (9) years from 1982 to 1986, both inclusive, by ore-quarter (1,/4 mill, twenty-five (29) cents per One Thousand ((.1,00fl.93) Dollars of the assessed valuation as finally t'qfual7Pd for the purrose of acquiring, developing, operating and main- taining parks and recreation areas in Oakland County, Michigan (such increase being a renewal of the one-,-;marter (1/4) mill increase which expires in 1981)?" That each City and Township Clerk shall give notice of the submission of the aforesaid proposition by including same in the election notice for the said Primary August Election, which notice shall contain the statement of the •Oakland County Treasurer as to Richard R. Wilcox, Chairan previously voted tax limitation increases affecting property within the County of Oakland. MR.
