IN RE: EMERGENCY PREHOSPITAL EVALUATION GRANT ACCEPTANCE
TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, the Oakland County Board. of Commissioners by Miscellaneous
Resolution Number 9372 authorized the application for an Emergency Medical
Services Prehospital Evaluation Grant; and
WHEREAS, the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning has approved
$58,464.00 in federal funds for such a project; and
WHEREAS, the office of the federal and State Grant Coordinator has
reviewed the Emergency Medical Services Rrehospital Evaluation Grant as approved
by the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning (0.H.S.P.) and finds that
the Grant for $53,464.00 varies more than ten percent from the $87,397.00
requested in the original application; and
WHEREAS, the 0.H.S.P. grant calls for $25,391.00 in indirect match
to be provided by Oakland County; and
WHEREAS, $25,391.00 in indirect matching funds has been allocated
as part of the Emergency Mc ,1:c,i1 Services and Disaster Control Division budget
for such costs; and
WHEREAS, • $25,391.00 in indirect matching funds has been identified
within the current Emergency Medical Services and Disaster Control Division •
budget (consistent with attached budget); and
WHEREAS, no additional expenditure of County funds is required; and
WHEREAS, the Oakland County Emergency Medical Services Council
recommends acceptance of the E.M.S. Prehospital Evaluation Grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED ,Lhat the Public Services Committee
recommends that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners accept the grant
award from the Office of Highway Safety Planning (consistent with tho attached
budget); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Emergency Medical Services and
Disaster Control Division staff and the Council will provide written quarterly
reports to the Public Services Committee.

Oakland County will absorb indirect administrative costs (28% of personal services
costs) $10,991.00. Monies have been allocated in the Oakland County EMS & DC budget
for data processing/computer usage $6,000.00. Additional in-kind match will be
provided in terms of office rental $1,200.00 and donation of time by professional
-staff and committee members (no one of either of the above will be reimbursed).

IN RE: EMERGENCY PREHOSPITAL EVALUATION GRANT ACCEPTANCE
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentle-,-n:
Pursuant to Rule XI-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has re-
viewed said Miscellaneous Resolution and finds:
1) The subject grant covers a period SeL-':-ilber 30, 1980 through
November 1, 1981 and is in the amount of $83,855, of which $58,464 is
funded by the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning, $19,391 is
County soft-match funds and $6,000 County funding, consistent with the
attached schedule.
2) Personnel changes will require Personnel Committee approval.
3) The County is under no obligation to continue program if funding
ceases.
4) The $6,000 County cash match is available in the 1980 EMS
Budget-Data Processing line-item, said funds to be transferred to this
grant budget.
