(Classroom Training Title JIB) TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlman: WHEREAS, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners by Miscellaneous Resolution Number 6546 applied for and was granted the designation as Prime Sponsor by the United States Department of Labor to administer the provisions of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973; and WHEREAS, as a result of Resolution Number 8609 the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approved the C.E.T.A. Title I (II A.B.C.) Plan for Fiscal Year 1979; and WHEREAS, S.E.R. Clerk Typist was one of the Classroom Training programs approved for funding under Title I (II A.B.C.) Plan for Fiscal Year 1979, leasing classroom space from Pontiac Opportunities Industrialization Center, and WHEREAS, S.E.R. 's urgent need to relocate has promoted negotiations with other community facilities, and WHEREAS, S.E.R. has made positive negotiations with St. Vincent De Paul (attachment A); NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approve an increase in the contract from 43951 to 45621 for the relocation of S.E.R. to St. Vincent De Paul in accordance to the amount identified in the attached cost estimate (attachment B). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners be and is hereby authorized to execute said contract modification. The Public Services Committee, by Henry William Hoot, Chairman, moves the adoption of the foregoing resolution. Oakland County/Pontiac July 5, 1979 Mrs. Vivian Glover RECEIVED Classroom Training Supervisor 140 South Saginaw Street, Suite 600 AILS 179 Pontiac, MI 48058 MANPOWER DEPARTMENT Dear Mrs. Glover: The purpose of this letter is to inform the Employment and Training Administration of our meeting of July 2, 1979 with Father Bill Easton, pastor of St. Vincent De Paul parish, concerning our relocation effort. As you know SER has been actively searching for an alternate facility in which to house it's program for the past two (2) months. Father Easton has informed us the parish has space available on the first and third floor of their school building behind the church. The rent for each class- room averages $250.00 per month utilities included, general upkeep and maintenance of the facility will be the parishes responsibility. We were further informed the Archdiocese of Detroit is the rentor and owner of all church property in the area. The Arch Bishop has sole author- ity over transactions concerning Church property, however recommendations by the Parish board and other factions within the community are entertained and taken into account before final decisions are made. Father Easton has recomended that SER submit a mini proposal explain- ing our program and intended use of the facility. The parish will act as the agent in submitting the proposal to the Detroit Archdiocese. Because of the programs urgent need to move we ask the Employment and Training Administration to assist SER with any additional costs incurred as they relate to a new location.
