IN RE: LOCAL 2437, NON-CASEWORKERS TENTATIVE AGREEMENT
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the County of Oakland, the Oakland County Probate Court and
Council 25, AFSC & ME Local 2437, Non-Caseworkers have recently entered into
a collective bargaining agreement which provided for further discussions to
be held to determine a wage rate for 1980 and 1981; and
WHEREAS the agreement also provided for further discussion of
additional issues as set forth in the agreement; and
WHEREAS the parties have met and reached agreement on said issues;
and the supplemental agreement has been reduced to writing; and
WHEREAS the adopted 1980 Budget provides funding for the salary
and mileage increases in the agreement; and
WHEREAS the Personnel Committee has reviewed the agreement and
recommends its approval;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the proposed agreement between
the County of Oakland, the Oakland County Probate Court, and Council 25,
AFSC & ME, Local 2437, Non-Caseworkers be and the same is hereby approved; and
that the Chairperson of this Board, on behalf of the County of Oakland, be
and is hereby authorized to execute said agreement, a copy of which is attached
hereto.
The Personnel Committee, by John J. McDonald, Chairperson, moves
the adoption of the foregoing resolution.

- Whereas the collective bargaining agreeent recently entered into
between the parties provides for dieecussions to be held to determine a wage
rate for the years 1980 and 1981 for Non-Caseworker employees represented by
Local 2437; and
Whereas the collective bargaining agreement also provides for
• further discussion of additional issues as set forth in the agr • enL; and
Whereas the parties have since met with considerable diecussion
taking place related to the said issues ..
The parties hereby agreed to the following:
1. Wages for 1980
a. Effective January 1, 1980, the 1979 Merit System salary
rate as contained in the collective bargaining agreement
b. Effective June 28, 1980, the Merit Sys -Lc:J salary for these
classifications is to be increased by 4%.
2. Wages for 1981
All Non-Caseworker classifications represented by Local 2437 shall
receive any general increase approved by the Oakland County
Board'of Commissioners to take effect during calendar year 1931
for non-represented employees.
3. Mileage Reimbursement
Effective January 1, 1980 employees reeered to drive their

twenty (20) cents per mile driven. (In the event there is
a Federal tax placed on gasoline for the purpose of energy
conservation, the employer agrees to discuss the matter with
the union.)
- 4. Fringe Benefits
a. All fringe benefit changes applied on a County-wide basis
to non-represented employees shall also be applied to
Non-Caseworker Employees represented by Local 2437 and
become a part of this agreement.
b. The management demand related to revising the sick leave/
income continuation insurance plan shall remain open for
discussion and possible implementation during Che period
of the agreement.
It is further agreed that the remaining issues left open in the
collective bargaining agreement for further discussion are considered dropped
by the parties and those items listed herein shall constitute full and total
settlement on all demands put forth by the union.
