IN RE: School Justice Prolect - Oakland Schools Grant Application
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, the Oakland Schools have applied for a grant in the amount of
$79,436 to train teachers in the use of law.related education materials and set up a
resource network in law-related education in Oakland County.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Chairperson of the Oakland
County Board of Commissioners be and is hereby authorized to execute the necessary
documents required with the knowledge that the Health and Human Resources Committee
has not taken a position in favor or in opposition to this grant.
The Health and Human Resources Committee, by John H. Peterson, Chairperson,
moves the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
STATMENT OF CONSENT
The undereigned hereby affirma and etatee no follows in regard to the grant appli-
cation submitted by (Name of Applicant)
entitled
(I) that said unit of general local government recognizes that the Crime
Control Act of 1976 and the Juvenile Jui4ice and Delinquency Prevention Mt of
1974, as amended, requires the Office of Criminal Justice Programa to make a
variable portion Of the Part C black grant. funds and the Juvenile Justice and
Delinquency Prevention At funds it recutvea available to units of general local
government, or combination thereof;
(2) that said unit of general local government recognizes that thia consent •
authorizes the Office of Criminal Justice Programs to charge the aunt of funds
indicated below, from the share of Part C block grant action funds or the Juvenile
Justice Delinquency Prevention Act funds available to units of gezeral local govern-.
=ant, or combinations thereof;
(3) that said unit of general local government recognizes that this consent .
authorizes the Office of Criminal. Justice Programa to consider the amount of funde .
.indicated below, as having beemeade directly to said local unit of government;
- (4) that said unit of general local government understands that this consent
. does- not restrict in any way its right to apply for funds for any other project, .
including those for the same or similar purposes;
.(5) that said unit of general local government recognizes that the Office of
: Criminal Justice Progress will consider this consent as evidencing a priority project
for foetid unit of general local government.
The amount to be charged to the share of the Part C block grant action funda or the
Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act funds shall be;
(enter the federal dollars requested only) as set forth in the
application for funding.
