MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION # 8932

IN RE: ACCEPTANCE OF THE 1979 COOPERATIVE REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM GRANT
PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Miscellaneous Resolution #8145 requires the Finance Committee
to review acceptance of all grants that vary less than ten (10) percent
from the grant as applied for; and
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners, by Miscellaneous
Resolution #8728 authorized the application for the continuation of the
Cooperative Reimbursement Program - Prosecutor's Office; and
WHEREAS the Finance Committee has reviewed said program as approved
by the State of Michigan Department of Social Services and finds the
grant for $432,265 varies less than ten (10) percent from the $443,863
in the original grant application and covers the period of January 1,
1979 through December 31, 1979; and
WHEREAS the County share of this grant is $83,445, or nineteen (19)
percent of which $35,939 is soft match contributions to the program,
$3,500 is cash contributions to the program, and $44,006 is for salaries
and fringe benefits costs associated with the two (2) positions; and
WHEREAS such funds are available as follows:
$35,939 - soft match
44,006 - 1979 Prosecutor Salaries budget
450 - 1979 Prosecutor Grant Match line-item
3,050 - 1979 Federal Project Match line-item
$83,445
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the 1979 Cooperative Reimbursement
Program - Prosecutor's Office in the amount of $432,265 be accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $3,050 be transferred from the Non-
departmental Federal Project Match line-item to the grant match line-
item in the 1979 Budget for the Prosecutor's Office.

(1) Although titled A.P.A. III classifications, the salary levels awarded are for A.P.A. II's.
(2) The variance represents an attempt to reduce salaries to the actual annual salary levels
of current employees. Provision for the Paralegal position is $70.00 less than current
earnings. However, the grant agreement authorizes payment for any raises or step increase
(3) Transportation includes cost of 3 County vehicles
