MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION 8973 DATE May 3, 1979

IN RE: C.E.T.A. TITLE VI, FY-79 PROJECTS ALLOCATION
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS:
Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners by
Miscellaneous Resolution #6546 applied for and was granted the
designation as Prime Sponsor by the U.S. Department of Labor
to administer the provisions of the Comprehensive
Employment and Training Act of 1973; and
WHEREAS the U.S. Department of Labor has mandated that
as of April 1, 1979 at least fifty percent (50%) of all new hires
in Title VI P.S.E. be enrolled in Title VI Projects; and
WHEREAS the transfer of approximately two hundred (200)
participants from Title VI P.S.E. into Title II-D and the
recapture of unexpended Title VI sustaining funds will provide the
necessary funding for Title VI Projects; and
WHEREAS by Miscellaneous Resolution #7880the Public
Services Committee and the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
have approved the criteria for awarding Projects, consisting of need,
agency resources, program effectiveness, cost effectiveness, and
benefit to the community; and
WHEREAS the Prime Sponsor has conducted the federally
required bidding process and the attached list of Projects have
successfully met the approved criteria.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County
Board of Commissioners approve the distribution of C.E.T.A. Title
VI Fiscal Year 1979 funds to operate Title VI Projects consistent
with the attached budget.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a quarterly report for review
of performance objectives will be submitted to the Public Services
Committee and theOakland County Board of Commissioners.
The Public Services Committee, by Henry William Hoot,
Chairman, moves the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
