Gabler, Jr., Chairperson Oakland County Board of Commissioners WHEREAS, on April 8, 1979 a serious ice storm inundated most of the County of Oakland causing extensive damage to structures, trees, utilities and seriously disrupted travel and communications; and WHEREAS, the Oakland County Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services, a voluntary component organization of the Oakland County EMS/Disaster Control Division did respond to the emergency by giving unselfishly of their time and resources, and aided the County in re-establishing communications, acted as couriers for emergency messages, responded to numerous requests for assistance and acted as additional eyes and ears over a period of many hours for the County's emergency services force; and WHEREAS, this organization tirelessly performed its duties with inordinate zeal, enthusiasm and distinction. NOW THEREFORE, I, Wallace F. Gabler, Jr., Chairperson of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim commendation to the Oakland County Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service and extend a heartfelt well done" to its members. IT WITNESS WHEREOF, 1, Wallace F. Gabler, Jr., Chairperson of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners do hereby set my hand and cause the seal of the County of Oakland to be affixed on this 18th day of October, in the Year of our Lord, One Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-Nine.
