MURPHY, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: ACCEPTANCE OF 1979/1980 RAPE SENSITIZING PROGRAM GRANT TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS Miscellaneous Resolution #8145 requires the Finance Committee to review acceptance of all grants that vary less than ten (10) percent from the grant as applied for; and WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners, by Miscellaneous Resolution #8996 authorized the application for the Multiple Victimization of Rape Victims grant; and WHEREAS the Finance Committee has reviewed said program as approved by the State Office of Criminal Justice Programs and finds the project has been renamed the Rape Sensitizing Program and the total program of $55,733 is an increase of $185, as detailed in the attached schedule, from the $55,548 in the original grant application and covers the period of July 1, 1979 to September 30, 1980; and WHEREAS the County share of this grant is $4,551, or eight (8) percent and consists entirely of a cash contribution to the program; and WHEREAS such funds are available in the 1979 Federal Project Match Line- item. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the 1979/1980 Rape Sensitizing Program Grant in the amount of $55,733 be accepted, with the understanding this does not obligate the County beyond end of the present grant, and $4,551 be transferred From the Non-departmental Federal Project Match Line-item to the grant match line-item in the 1979 Budget for the Community and Minority Affairs Division. (2) Includes $10,100 for 10 sessions subcontracted to Dr. Joseph Macri, Director of the Oakland Police Academy, $600 for Hospital, Mental Health and Prosecutor's Office personnel. Also included are funds for Y.W.C.A. Rape Crisis Center personnel - $1,000 to assist in training and $1,250 for Victim Preparation. (3) To perform payroll and other bookkeeping functions for the office, about 10 hours a month, (4) Includes $800 for the purchase of one (1) typewriter and $500 for office partitions. #9161 October 18, 1979 Moved by Murphy supported by Moffitt the resolution be adopted.
