WHEREAS, Oakland County _ (2), sustained severe losses of major proportions brought on by the snows to rm , Jan. 26- 31 , 1978 (3) resulting in the following conditions: impassable Toads, power outages , loss of business (4). WHEREAS, the County Board of Commissioners (1) certifie3 the County (5) Emergency PreparedneE.-, Plan was implemented at the onset of the disaster at Noln .. l a t. , J6 , 1978 and all applicable disaster relief forces identified therein were exhausted. WHEREAS, as a direct result of the disaster, public damage and expenditures were extraord- inary and place an unreasonably great financial burden on Oakland Cou u_t y (2) totaling $ 3 9 , 8 8 4 . 5 3 (7)- Oakland County Board NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT of Comm s s loners (1) requests the Governor authorize a grant to the County of Oakl and (2) from the State Disaster Contingency Fund pursuant to Section 19, Act 390, Public Acts of 1976. FURTHERMORE, Daniel T. Murphy (8) is authorized to execute for and in behalf of Oakland County (2) the application for financial assistance and to provide to the State any information required for that purpose.
