Hoot, Chairman IN RE: CETA Title VI Special Projects - Discretionary Funding TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS: Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners by Miscellaneous Resolution #6546 applied for and was granted the designation as Prime Sponsor by the U.S. Department of Labor to administer the provisions of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973; and WHEREAS Oakland County Prime Sponsor received $687,181 of CETA Title Vi FY77 discretionary; and WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approved by Resolution Number 8176 the distribution of these funds based on the twelve communities with the highest unemployment rate. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approve $470,615 for Special Projects under (ETA Title VI FY77 in accordance with the attached schedule. Hoot, Chairman IN RE CETA TITLE VI FY-77 SPECIAL PROJECTS DISCRETIONARY FUNDS TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS: Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners by Miscellaneous Resolution #6546 applied for and was granted the designation as Prime Sponsor by the U.S. Department of LabOr to administer the provisions of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973; and WHEREAS, discretionary funds have been published in the Federal Register on August 26, 1977, indicating that after a public comment period . of thirty days that the Oakland County Prime Sponsor will receive $687,181. WHEREAS, the Prime Sponsor in the past Title II and Title VI grants of public employment monies has utili7ed both the rate fo unemployment and the number of unemployed in calculating allocations, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the communities with the 12 highest unemployment rates in Oakland County should receive discretionary monies for special projects consistent with the ratio determined by thP number of unemployed in each community, as set forth in the attached summary. . NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that 7% of the total grant be utilized by the Prime Sponsor for administration. _ The Public Services Committee, by Henry W.
