In re: Art Exhibitions
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners has established a Cultural
Council to promote the arts in Oakland County; and
WHEREAS, the Royal Oak County market and Pontiac County market are ideally
located and with sufficient space to have art fairs and exhibits.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
request the County Executive to inque into the feasibility of using the Royal Oak , or
Pontiac County markets for the purpose of holding art fairs and exhibits on the first Sunday of
every month.
MR. CHAIRMAN, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution.

IN RE: Miscellaneous Resolution #8425 - Art Exhibits in County Markets
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Planning and Building Committee, by Richard R. Wilcox, Chairman,
having reviewed Miscellaneous Resolution #8425 reports with the recommendation
that the resolution be adopted with the following conditions; that the Cultural Council
appoint a nine-member Steering Committee; that the County Executive report back to
the Planning and Building Committee before any final action and that the investigation
include the effect this may have on the occupants of the markets, as well as existing
Community Art Fairs and Exhibits.
The Planning and Building Committee, by Richard R. Wilcox, Chairman,
moves the acceptance of the foregoing report.

A sufficient majority having-voted therefor, the motion carried.
Moved by McConnell supported by Moffitt that Resolution #8425 be adopted.
Moved by Roth supported by Moffitt the resolution be laid on the table, pending
a report from the County Executive.
A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the motion carried.
