IN RE: TORNADO SIREN COUNTY/LOCAL COMMUNITY AGREEMENTS
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD IT cnTlissioNERs
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen ,
WHY:PEAS, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners by Miscellaneous
Resolution No. 7865 accepted the federal "Outdoor Siren Warning System" grant
(#77-(1) in the amount of $118.571 and apnronriated the county share in the
amount of $56,811; and •
WHEREAS, Miscellaneous Resolution #7865 stipulated that county and
federal funds could not be snent until signed agreements between local
communities and the county had been secured and
WHEREAS, such county/local agreements have been secured.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners authorizes the purchase of fifteen (15) sirens, consistent
with the attached budget schedule
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County's funds in the amount of
$35,505 are available in the 1977 Non-Departmental Federal Project match line
item.
The Public Services Committee, by Henry W. Hoot Chairman moves the
adoption of the foregoing resolution.

THIS AGREEMENT, entered into this 21st day of
March , 1977, between the COUNTY OF OAKLAND, a Michigan
Constitutional Corporation, hereinafter called "County", and
the Township of Pontiac , hereinafter called
"Municipality";
WHEREAS, the County has established a centrally
activated tornado warning system; and
WHEREAS, the Municipality desires to become a part of
such system.
NOW THEREFORE in consideration of the sum of $5,880.00
paid by the Municipality to the County, the County agrees to
install 2 sirens within the Municipality at locations
to be designated by the Municipality.
IT IS MUTALLY AGREED AND UNDERSTOOD that the sirens
shall be owned by the County.
IT IS FURTHER AGREED AND UNDERSTOOD that the maintenance
of the sirens shall be borne by the County and at no cost to the
Municipality.
This agreement and costs shown are subject to change

RE: Central Disaster Warning System
We are pleased to advise that the West Bloomfield Township
Board, at its meeting of March 21, 1977, entered into the
attached agreement to participate in Oakland County's Centrally
Activated Tornado Siren Warning System.
The Fire Chief has some alternatives which he would like to
discuss with you.
Will your office advise the undersigned upon installation of
the sirens and of the final determined locations.
Needless to say, we are delighted that the program is underway.

install 9 sirens within the Municipality-at locations
to be designated by the Municipality.
IT IS MUTALLY AGREED AND UNDERSTOOD that the sirens
shall be owned by the County.
IT IS FURTHER AGREED AND UNDERSTOOD that the maintenance
of the sirens shall be borne by the County and at no cost to the

paid by the Municipality to the County, the County agrees to
install Two sirens within the Municipality at locations
to be designated by the Municipality.
