RE: CONSTRUCTION OF ANCILLARY COURTHOUSE

TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, the popurus southern portion of Oakland County would be best served
by the establishment of a ancillary Circuit Court Building, and
WHEREAS, the computerization of the Oakland County Circuit Court and County
Clerk's Office would make such a facility feasible, and
WHEREAS, the establishment of such a Court would provide savings to local police
agencies, and
WHEREAS, there are federal funds available to construct such a facility which would
eliminate the need for tremendous local expenditures to renovate existing buildings on the
County Service Center.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
directs that the Federal and State Aid Coordinator prepare a grant application under the
Public Works Impact Energy Conservation Program for the Construction of a Satellite Circuit
Court Building, housing four Court rooms (approximately 12,000 square feet) to be located
in the Sourthern portion of Oakland County.
The Planning & Building Committee by Richard R,Wilcox., Chairman, moves the
adoption of the foregoing resolution.
