Miscellaneous Resolution May 19, 1977

IN RE: CREATION OF A NEW CLASSIFICATION IN THE MANPOWER DIVISION
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Oakland County will receive an additional $34 million in
C.E.T.A. (Comprehensive Employment Training Act) funds for public service
employment; and
WHEREAS expenditure of these funds must begin by June 1, 1977; and
WHEREAS there is presently no vehicle for providing public service
employment enrollees with the necessary skills required in procuring
unsubsidized employment; and
WHEREAS the Public Services Committee endorsed the establishment
of continuing education for public service employment enrollees at their
meeting of May 3, 1977; and
WHEREAS there are monies available in the C.E.T.A. Administrative
budget to fund additional positions,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the new classification of Supervisor
of Employment Skills Development be created with the following salary range:
Base 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year
15,758 16,497 17,237 17,976 18,715
in the Manpower Division of the Department of Public Services.
The Personnel Committee, by John J. McDonald, Chairman, moves the
adoption of the foregoing resolution.
