IN RE: TEMPORARY OFFICE SPACE FOR ADDITIONAL CIRCUIT COURT PROBATION EMPLOYEES
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Circuit Court Probation Department will be employing
twenty (20) additional employees; and
WHEREAS there is insufficient office space in any County buildings; and
WHEREAS the County Executive staff recommends the renting of temporary
office space in the Pontiac State Bank Building, Suite 801, 28 North Saginaw,
Pontiac, Michigan, for a period of eighteen (18) months (then on a month-to-month
basis) at a cost of $472.88 per month; and
WHEREAS your Committee so recommends to this Board with the concurrence
of the Health and Human Resources Committee to furnish temporary office space.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Chairman of the Oakland County
Board of Commissioners is hereby authorized to enter into a lease for temporary
office space in the Pontiac State Bank Building, Suite 801, 28 North Saginaw,
Pontiac, Michigan, for twenty (20) additional Circuit Court Probation employees
at a cost of $472.88 per month.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $11,000 be taken from the Contingency Fund
to pay ten (10) months of 1977 for temporary office space. The breakdown
of funding is as follows:
Rental $ 4728.80
Electricial 640.00
Telephones 4500.00
Moving 350.00
Contingency 781.20
$11,000.00
The State of Michigan will reimburse the County of Oakland SO% of the actual
cost for temporary office space not to exceed eighteen (18) months.
The Planning and Building Committee by Richard R. Wilcox, Chairman, and
with the concurrence of the Health and Human Resources Committee moves the
adoption of the foregoing resolution.

IN RE: MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION NO. 7867 - TEMPORARY OFFICE SPACE FOR
ADDITIONAL CIRCUIT COURT PROBATION EMPLOYEES
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XI-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has re-
viewed Miscellaneous Resolution No. 7867 and finds that the necessary funds
of $11,000 are available by increasing the 1977 Revenue line-item, Use of
Property, by $5,500 and by transferring the balance of $5,500 from the 1977
Contingent Fund. Funds in the amount of $11,000 to be transferred to the
appropriate line-items in the Circuit Court-Probation Division budget.
Further, the Finance Committee finds that no County funds will be neces-
sary for operating and/or capital outlay costs associated with the additional
positions.

LEASE
THIS MEMORANDUM WITNESSETH that the County of Oakland, •
a Michigan Constitutional Corporation, hereinafter referred to as
the Lessee, does hereby lease from William T. Brooks, Agent,
Pontiac State Bank Building, hereinafter referred to as the Lessor,
the following premises in the City of Pontiac, known as Pentiac
State Bank Building, more particularly known as:
28 North Saginaw, Suite 801, Pontiac, Michigan,
for a period of eighteen (18) months commencing-from the date of
this Lease with an option to extend said Lease on a month to month_
basis at the same rental Tate.
The Lessee hereby leases said premises for the term
aforesaid and covenants:
1. To pay the Lessor the sum of Four Hundred Seventy
Two and 88/100 ($472.88) Dollars per month, such sum payable monthly
commencing with the date of this Lease.
2. To use and occupy said premises only for the purpose
of housing for Circuit Court-Probation Department.
3. To observe all reasonable regulations and requirements
of underwriters concerning the use and condition of the premises
tending to reduce fire hazards and insurance rates. -
4. That he will not assign this Lease nor sublet the
premises nor any part thereof without the consent of the Lessor
thereto endorsed in writing.
S. If the demised premises become wholly untenantable
through damage or destruction by fire not occasioned by the negli-
gence of the Lessor, this Lease shall be void.
6. Lessee agrees to pay for whatever telephone expenses
they might incur.
7. Lessee agrees to pay electrical costs.
Lessor covenants: That the Lessee on payment of the rental
rate at the time and in the manner aforesaid and performing all fore-
going covenants, shall and may peacefully and quietly have, hold
and enjoy the demised premises for the term aforesaid.
A. It is expressly agreed between the Lessor and the Lessee
that if, during the demised term, proceedings shall be instituted
under the power of eminent domain which shall result in an eviction
total or partial of the Lessee, that at the time the trial of such -
proceedings shall commence, this Lease shall be void and the term
-above demised shall cease and terminate, and if the Lessee continues
in possession, he shall be a tenant from month to month, and for
no longer term, anything in this instrument to the contrary notwith-
standing.
I. Lessor agrees to provide heat, water . and .sewage
facilities, as well as all custodial services and supplies which .
may be required for the premises, such items to include, but are not
limited to paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, light bulbs, etc.
11. Lessor agrees to furnish room dividers at no cost to
Lessee.
III. Lessor agrees to provide all maintenance and opera-
tional costs associated with the use of the premises, including
removal of trash/garbage/snow.
IV. Lessor agrees to provide Fire and Public Liability
Insurance on the building and premises.
V. Lessor agrees not to permit nor allow any rubbish,
waste material or products to accumulate on the premises.
IT IS FURTHER AC7REED betwen Lessor and Lessee and either
party may terminate this Lease by mutual agreement before expiration.
