Dear Mr. McKay:
After reviewing all reports, records and having discussions
with some of the Native American communities in Oakland County
the Detroit American Indian Center, Prime Sponsar for Title III
Indian Programs, has decided not to fund either Indian Center
presently stationed in Oakland County for the 1978 Fiscal Year
We plan on opening an entirely new center, which will be directly
under the administration of the Detroit Indian Center. We will
be directly responsible for all accounts, record-keeping, and
hiring. Personnel presently employed at both centers will be
considered for employment at this new Center.
