HomeMy WebLinkAboutElection Canvasses - 1987.04.06 - 1368hy)4isArmour., City Clerk (.7", n• CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION CHARTER AMENDMENT I, Phyllis Armour, duly appointed City Clerk of the City of Birmingham, Oakland County, Michigan, do hereby certify the following to be a true and complete copy of an amendmeht to Section 2, Chapter VI of the Charter of said City, approved by a vote of the electors of said City at an annual City Election held on the Sixth day of April, 1987, to wit: AMENDMENT Adopted April 6, 1987 CHAPTER VI - CONTRACTS Section 2. Subject to the provisions of this charter, the city may through its departments, officers and employees, perform public works of all kinds or it may let any such work by contract. The city shall not, however, undertake or contract for the performance of any public work exceeding an estimated cost of Twelve Thousand ($12,000.00) Dollars until it has first advertised for sealed proposals therefor; provided, however, that by a vote of five of the members of the Commission elect, -the city itself may perform work in excess of that cost without adver- tisement. The city shall in all cases have the right to reject any or all competitive bids, and shall not be obligated to purchase from the lowest bidder. do hereby certify that at said election the vote upon said Charter Amendment was 1,181 in favor of and 496 against said Charter Amendment.
