Benn, City Clerk Re: Official Canvass of Returns - Special Election - April 27, 1993 The Bi-partisan City Canvassing Board met Thursday, April 29, 1993, and, after examining and auditing precinct returns for the City's Bonding Proposition the Board determined that the proposition was adopted. Attached is a copy of the official canvass. Senn, City Clerk BIRMINGHAM CITY CANVASSING BOARD PROCEEDINGS APRIL 27, 1993 Minutes of a Special Meeting of the bi-partisan Board of Canvassers of the city of Birmingham, County of Oakland, Michigan, held in city hall in said city on the twenty-ninth day of April, 1993, at 5:30 P.M. Present: Janet Edgerly, Polly Elder, and Patricia Lahar Absent: James Robb and Edward Taras The purpose of the meeting was to canvass one local proposition which appeared on the April 27, 1993, Special Election ballot. The oath of office was aministered by the city clerk. The city clerk submitted Statements of Votes from fourteen precincts and one counting board. The official Statements of Votes for all precincts were tabulated. The city clerk reported that a one vote discrepency appeared on machine 73788; however it does not change the outcome of the election. The following preamble and resolution was adopted: WHEREAS, at an election duly called and held in the city of Birmingham, County of Oakland, Michigan, on April 27, 1993, between the hours of 7:00 o'clock a.m. and 8:00 o'clock p.m., the question hereinafter set forth was submitted, and WHEREAS, returns from voting precincts at said election have been filed with the city clerk and have been presented to and examined by the Board of Canvassers. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: 1. Shall the city of Birmingham, Michigan borrow the principal amount of not to exceed $7,500,000 and issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds therefor the purpose of paying costs of renovating the existing Department of Public Services Building and the existing City Hall by reconstructing, remodeling, refurnishing and re-equiping the existing buildings and improving the sites related thereto, including all related and ancillary costs, expenses and appurtenances? TOTAL VOTES CAST 1974 VOTES CAST IN FAVOR OF PROPOSITION 1274 VOTES CAST AGAINST THE PROPOSITION 699 2.
