HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1982.08.26 - 13914PROVE THE FORGnING LU Miscellaneous Resolution #82242 August 26, 1982 BY: PLANNING AND BUILDING COMMITTEE IN RE: AUTHORIZATION TO RECEIVE BIDS - SERVICE CENTER ROAD AND PARKING LOT REPAIR AND REPAVING TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS several parking lots and interior roads of the Service Center are in need of repair and repaving; and WHEREAS such areas include the patching of roads leading to the Mental Retardation Center and Administrative Annex I; and WHEREAS approximately 20% of the Public Works building parking lot is in need of repair and patching; and WHEREAS the south parking lot is in need of resurfacing; and WHEREAS the preliminary estimated cost of the above projects is $113,300; and WHEREAS funds for the above project are available in the 1982 Capital Program-Utilities Section. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Department of Central Services be and is hereby authorized to receive bids for the above described projects and a report thereon be made to this Board after receipt and tabulation of such bids. Mr. Chairperson, on behalf of the Planning and Building Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoing resolution. Administrative Project Total Contingency 9,900 5,000 113,300 OAKLAND COUVJY c.XEcUIIVE DEPARTVENT OF.UMTVI. SERVICES FACILITIES- ENGINEERING DIVISON Project 82-6 1982 PAVING PROGRAM. As Approved by the Planning & Building Committee on 8/12/82 Included in the 1982 program are three patching jobs and one complete resurfacing. In that order, they are: 1. Mental Retardation Center Remove deteriorated asphalt and patch the inbound half of the entrance boulevard (the outbound half was patched in 1981) and the service road to the rear of the building. These surfaces were installed as part of the original building construction - in 1971. 2. Campus Drive Remove .deteriorated asphalt and patch that portion of the west end of this entrance road to the Administrative Annex and Work Release Facility. This road was built in the 1950s, 3, Public Works Buildina . . . . . . . . . . . • Approximately 20 percent of the asphalt surface has deteriorated. Although the patching required is similar to that mentioned for the previous two locations, the extent is much larger. This lot was built as part of the building project in 1970 and has a capacity of 225. Portions have been patched earlier. 4. South Parking Lot This is a major repair job. Deteriorated asphalt will be removed, patched and then the entire lot will be resurfaced. This lot was built in 1959 and has never been resurfaced although minor patching has been done from time to time. The lot was intended to provide parking for the public and has a capacity of 190 cars. Estimated cost for this program is: 1. Mental Retardation Center 300 tons at $40 2. Campus Drive 110 tons at $40 3. Public Works Building 300 tons at $40 $ 12,000 4,400 12,000 4. South Parking Lot Asphalt - 1,000 tons 40,000 Curb 5,000 Sidewalk 8,000 Drain 17,000 $ 70,000 Construction Sub-Total $ 93,400 The Public Works Building Lot and the South Parking Lot are included in the Utilities Section of the Capital Improvement Plan at a total estimated cost of $158,400. Although not mentioned in the Plan, the work at the Mental Renrdation Center and Campus Drive can be done within the $158,400 vailable. Engineering and inspection would be done by the Facilities. Engineering staff. At this time, authorization to prepare the necessary drawings and specifications, advertise, receive bids, and report thereon, is being requested. # 82242 August 26, 1982 Moved by Hobart supported by Lanni the resolution be adopted.
