PLANNING AND BUILDING COMMITTEE 4,200 800 $47,000 Project 82-5 OAKLAND COUNTY EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT OF CENTRAL SERVICES FACILITIES ENGINEERING DIVISION NORTH OFFICE BUILDING REROOFING Presented to Planning & Building Committee on September 2, 1982 In late 1980, the Maintenance Division contracted with the Tremco Company to evaluate the performance of several of our roofs. In October of 1980, investigations were made using infrared thermal sensing, core samples, moisture probes, and visual examination techniques. A report was compiled and presented on November 17, 1980. From the list of recommendations contained in that report, the Maintenance Division identified the most critical. The West Wing, Adminstrative Annex II, and Work Release Facility have already been repaired and reroofed. What is being proposed for the next most critical facility, the North Office Building, is removal and replacement of wet insulation and a complete replacement of the built-up roof system. The parapet wall, which has been a factor in other roof repair jobs, has been found to be satisfactory in this case. The project is estimated to cost: Reroofing (14,000 sq. ft. @ $3.00/sq. ft.) $42,000 Contingency (10%) Administrative (advertising, blueprints, etc.) TOTAL PROJECT COST Funding for the project is available from the North Office Building Remodeling line item in the 1982 Capital Improvement Plan.
