WILLIAM CADDELL, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR JAIL MODIFICATION (PHASE 1 - ELECTRICAL) TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr, Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, by Miscellaneous Resolution I/82023 of February 4, 1982 , the Board of Commissioners authorized the County Executive's Department of Central Services to receive bids for the Modifications to the Oakland County Law Enforcement Complex - Phase 1, improvements of the electrical, communications and fire alarm system; and WHEREAS, in accordance with bidding procedures established by this Board, bids were received and opened September 28, 1982, for electrical trades; and WHEREAS, the County Executive's Department of Central Services has reviewed all bids submitted and recommends the lowest bidder, County Electric Company, of Taylor Michigan, the electrical work in the amount of $137,671.00; and WHEREAS, consultant fees for design cost are estimated at $10,000; administration expenses are estimated at $3,562 and $13,767 contingency should be provided; and WHEREAS, total project cost is estimated to be $165,000; and WHEREAS, by Miscellaneous Resolution 782023, funding in the amount of $1/1,000 for initial design and administrative cost was appropriated for this project; and WHEREAS, funding for Jail Modifications is provided in the 1982 Capital Improvement Program. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1) That the contract proposal of County Electric Company, Inc., of Taylor, Michigan, in the amount of $131,671, be accepted and the contract awarded in concurrence with the Planning and Building Committee recommendations, 2) That additional funds be provided in the amount of S151,000.00 to cover the total project cost. 3) That the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners be and here- by is authorized and directed to execute a contract with the County Electric Company, Inc., of Taylor, Michigan on behalf of the County of Oakland, 4) That this award shall not be effective until the awardee has been notified in writing by the County Executive's Department of Central Services, Facilities Engineering Division, - That pursuart fo Pillo X-C of this .Bcrd, 'Hno Finance Col.wiftee fihcas Fr:151,C;00 available in the 1982 Capital Imp..,,cvement Pro ,qram - Lluildin Fund_ Mx.
