FORTINO TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: WHEREAS, the Honorable Frederick E. Byrd, Judge of the Common Pleas Court of the City of Detroit, has per- mitted his courtroom to be used for religious activities during non-court hours; and WHEREAS, those attending the religious activities do so on a voluntary basis; and WHEREAS, Madeline O'Hara has objected to the use of the courtroom for religious activities; and WHEREAS, Judge Byrd should be supported in his stand in permitting the courtroom to be used for religious activ- ities during non-court hours on a voluntary basis. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners supports the stand of Judge Byrd in permitting the courtroom to be used for religious activities during non-court hours on a voluntary basis.
