HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1976.06.17 - 142297600 MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION June 17, 1976 BY: FINANCE COMMITTEE, LAWRENCE R„ PERN1CK, CHAIRMAN IN RE: DATA PROCESSING PROGRAM FOR 52nd DISTRICT COURT TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Mr. Chairman, Ladies & Gentlemen: WHEREAS Oakland County's 52nd District Court has requested that a Data Processing System be installed; and WHEREAS this system will automatically process certain present manual functions, allow new output functions, reduce storage space, handle new growth and release 3.5 positions to handle other duties; and WHEREAS the funds necessary for this project are available in the Data Processing Department's Development Costs but require a change in the present priority schedules; and WHEREAS estimated costs for implementing this program for 1976 will be $16,468 and costs for 1977 approximately $31,889; and WHEREAS pursuant to Miscellaneous Resolution #7385 of December 18, 1975, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners adopted a policy that all new develop- ment programs undertaken by Data Processing must be reviewed by the Finance Committee for appropriate cost justification prior to its implementation; and WHEREAS your Finance Committee has reviewed this program and recommends the installation, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Finance Committee recommends the in- stallation of a Data Processing System for the 52nd District Court to be imple- mented in the Walled Lake Division on July 1, 1976, in the Rochester Division on August 1, 1976, and in the Clarkston Division on September 1, 1976 at a cost for 1976 of $16,468 with such funds available in the 1976 District Court Budget line item - Data Processing-Development Costs, The Finance Committee, by Lawrence R. Pernick, Chairman, moves the acceptance of the foregoing resolution. , FINANCE COMMITTEE /Lawrence R. Pernick, Chairman Moved by Pernick supported by Lennon the resolution be adopted, Mr. Page requested that the Finance Committee keep this under review and to be sure that the savings that are projected in this resolution are effective. AYES: Perinoff, Pernick, Price, Roth, Simmons, Wilson, Aaron, Button, Daly, Douglas, Dunleavy, Fortino, Gabler, Hoot, Houghten, Kasper, Lennon, Moffitt, Montante, Murphy, Nowak, Olson, Page, Patterson (24) NAYS: None.
