IN RE: SOIL EROSION PROBLEM ON VACANT COUNTY. PROPERTY -
PONTIAC TOWNSHIP
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS a major soil erosion problem is originating on County owned
property south of the Oakland-Orion Airport in Pontiac Township; and
WHEREAS the soil erosion is causing serious damage to County property
and adjoining properties downstream; and
WHEREAS there is a moral responsibility to prevent the unnecessary
waste and environmental damage; and
WHEREAS both County and State agencies have stated they believe it is
- the worst case of soil erosion known in Oakland County; and
WHEREAS your Committee has reviewed both a total erosion control
project for $11,700.00 and an initial erosion control project that may be
adequate to check the damage to adjoining properties for $2,300.00;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners proceed with an initial erosion control project for $2,300.00
to control the soli erosion problem on County owned property south of the
Oakland-Orion Airport in Pontiac Township.
The Planning and Building Committee, by Patrick M. Nowak, Chairman,
moves the adoption of the foregoing resolution.

no objections.
