Dunleavy, Chalrman January 23, 1975 MISC, RES. 6961 BY: Public Services Committee--James Dunleavy, Chairman IN RE: Federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 TO: The Oakland County Board of Commissioners Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, Miscellaneous Resolution #6939, of December 19, 1974, requested that research of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as to its impact on the County of Oakland being a Designated Urban County under the Act; and WHEREAS, it has been ascertained that the County of Oakland does qualify for Entitlement Funds as an Urban County; and WHEREAS, the Act requires that the County of Oakland enter into Cooperative Agreements with the local units of government who have indicated their desire to participate; and WHEREAS, the Act requires that the County of Oakland declare its intension of accepting the Entitlement Funds for the purpose of the Act prior to the awarding of such Entitlement; and WHEREAS, the consumated Cooperative Agreements shall be in the HUD Headquarters Office on or before January 31, 1975. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the County of Oakland declare its intension to become designated as an Urban County and to accept the Entitlement Funds for the purposes of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974. The Public Services Committee, by James W. Dunleavy, Chairman, moves the adoption of the foregoing resolution. HEREBY APPROVE THE FOREOOING RESOLUTION. Moved by Dunleavy supported by Aaron the rules be suspended for immediate consideration of this resolution and also resolution - "Application for Planning Grant Funds under Federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974. AYES: Page, Patterson, perinoff, Price, Roth, Simmons, Wilcox, Aaron, Coy, Daly, Dearborn, Dunleavy, Fortino, Gabler, Honghten, Kasper, McDonald, Moffitt, Nowak, Olson. (20) NAYS: Pernick, Hoot. (2) A sufficient majority having voted therefor, the motion carried. Discussion followed.
