IN RE: MISC. RES. # 6970- Establishment of Bi-Centennial Commission
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Public Services Committee, in concurrence with the General
Government Committee, recommends the adoption of Miscellaneous Resolution #6970
which would establish an Oakland County Bicentennial Commission and further
recommends that Board members submit to the General Government Committee
recommendations for membership on the Commission.
The Public Services Committee, by James W. Dunleayy, Chairman,
moves the acceptance of the foregoing report.

TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS:
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Ge:.::..1:7v.:Trien:
WHEREAS, July 4, 1979 will commemorate the 200th
anniversary of the founding of the United States of America, and
WHEREAS, the State of Michigan and many of the local
units of governm.ent in Oakland County are officially partaking
in the bicentennial celebration and activities celebrating our
nation's independence, and
WHEREAS, those units of government officially recognirzed
by the State of Michigan and the United !7-1:::,:ae:s of America as
T 'Bi-centennia1 Cities " are permitted to fly the bi-centennial, flag
and to use the bicentennial logo,
NOW THEREFORE, he it resolved that the County of
Oakland shall appoint, a bicentennial corilmisFdon, and shall apply
for and receive the designation of being an offiefil bi-cent.ennial
unit of government,
