RE: ESTABLISHING LAKE LEVEL FOR DAVISBURG MILL POND, SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP BY: PANNING AND BUILDING COMMITTEE TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: WHEREAS, Section 3 of Act 146 of the Public Acts of 1961, as amended, provides that the Board of Commissioners may cause to be determined the normal height and level of the waters in an in- land lake where necessary, for the protection of the public health, welfare and safety and the conservation of the natural resources of the State; and WHEREAS, the dam-at the Davisburg Mill Pond, located in Section 17, Springfield Township, has washed out and is creating a safety hazard and will, if not replaced, dissipate the natural resources of Springfield Township; and WHEREAS, the County of Oakland owns approximately eighty (80%) percent of the land abutting said lake; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Building Committee believes it to be in the best interest of the County and the Springfield-Oaks ?ark and Springfield Township to establish the level of the Davisburg Mill Pond. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners, for the protection of the public health and safety and to preserve the natural resources of the State and of the Township of Springfield, deems it expedient to determine and establish the normal height and level of the Davisburg Mill Pond, located in Section 17, Springfield Township, Oakland County, Michigan, pursuant to the provisions of Act 146 of the Public Acts of 1961, as amended, 7130 BE =T FURTHER RESOLVED that the Oakland County Drain Commissioner cause to be undertaken an engineering report deter- mining the normal height and level to be established and the cost of said project and to report to the Board of Commissioners the cost of the said project. The Planning and Building Committee, by Mr. Patrick M. Nowak, Chairman, moves the adoption of the foregoing resolution.
