HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - 1975.11.20 - 14841November 6, 1975 'RESOLUTION RE: TERMINATION 64-- FEDERAL GRANT PROGRAMS BY: BETTY J. FORTINO TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MR. CHAIRMAN, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: WHEREAS, Federal Revenue Sharing will terminate effective December 31, 1976; and WHEREAS, the cost of administering the Federal Grant Programs is astronomical; and if WHEREAS, the people of the United States would be better served if/the Federal Grant Programs were $terminated and the money returned through Revenue Sharing directly back to local units of government for their determination as to the priorities for the expenditure of their funds and needs. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners respectfully requests that all Federal Grant Aid Programs be terminated and that the money which will be saved, including the cost of administration of the various programs, be returned to the local units of government for their dot as to priorities for the expenditure of funds and n BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that N.A.C.0, nd MAC. ostobh he rormL-Jlion of Federal Grants as an official position of each body.
